Meta Releases New Monetization Policy For Content Creators To Earn On Facebook

Facebook In-Stream Ads for Content Creator

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has announced a reduction in the requirements for content creators to earn revenue through Facebook’s In-Stream Ads.

Creators with at least 5,000 followers, 60,000 video watch minutes, and five videos can now apply for In-Stream Ads monetization, making the process easier than before. This is a significant change from the previous requirement of 10,000 followers and 600,000 video watch hours.

Although the new policy is better for content creators, Meta is concerned that creators may switch to other platforms, such as TikTok and YouTube, which also offer monetization programs for content creators.

For instance, TikTok also has a monetization program, while YouTube announced its own program for shorts videos on February 1, 2023.
